Under general supervision by the Technical Manager, this employee will provide daily support to the direct sales force, representatives, and customers in the areas of API-610 Pumps and other pump applications, proposal development and order processing/management. Specifically, this includes review of API-610 pump specifications, proposal preparation, providing technical support to customers, interfacing with vendors, order processing and expediting. Responsibilities of the Applications Engineer include, but are not limited to: Review customer inquiries and specifications - Using the company Intelliquip quotation platform & other tools, prepare comprehensive professional proposals in a timely manner Log pump proposals into Sales Force and keep database current Focus is on generating proposals for new Pump Works 610 products and other industrial pumps Handle customer telephone and email inquiries as they come in Meet proposal due dates and provide completed pump proposals per the requirements of the customer including completing customer datasheets & bid documents Interface with outside vendors to solicit quotes for equipment Effectively process API-610 pump orders and manage any issues that arise during the project execution Function as a liaison between operations and the customer as needed Be available to participate in sales team calls as part of the development process Assist Pump Works representatives and agents with pump selections and provide proposals to support their inquiries Provide technical support to customers and sales team on product selection & applications dealing with API 610 pumps and industrial pumps Attend pre-award meetings or technical discussions as required Coordinate and schedule internal order KOM's as necessary Effectively communicate with the team on account status, activity and issues Follow up and record activity on proposals to resellers with goal of turning API-610 pump proposals into orders Actively participates in discussions on pricing strategies with sales management Develop effective rapport with customer contacts Continually strive to increase API-610 pump specifications, pump configurations and API-610 pump design Travel international and domestic as required to support sales team in customer meetings Qualifications of the Applications Engineer include, but are not limited to: Maximum 8 years and minimum 3-5 years of experience with API-610 pump proposal development and order processing/management associated with pumps and rotating equipment Candidates having experience on tailoring proposals for high spec oil & gas end users as well as candidates having international experience will have added advantage Team oriented Strong PC skills with Windows XP and Microsoft Office programs Self-starter and highly motivated Good organizational skills Ability to juggle multiple tasks Demonstrate ability to establish relationships with customer base Excellent communication skills Good work ethic and positive attitude Additional Information Location: The role is based in Bengaluru, India Physical Demand : None Working Conditions : Office Environment Language : Fluent and clear English is mandatory for this position Training/Certifications : Any related to pumps, motors, couplings, mechanical seals knowledge Shift Time/Overtime : Not required Travel : Occasional Education : Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree DXP is always looking for individuals who want to join a team of employees who have the desire to achieve remarkable accomplishments together.
