With a team ofrenowned professionals and industry leaders, we aim to solve the employability challengeand create a lasting impact on society.We are looking for a Robotics/ Mechatronics Engineer + Subject Matter Expert(SME) to join the Robotics Specialisation team at our Computer Science & EngineeringDepartment. This academic-focused role requires a strong foundation in robotics,embedded systems, and a passion for teaching and mentoring students in cutting-edgeengineering disciplines.This is a full-time academic role.Key Responsibilities● Course Development & Delivery: Design and deliver engaging lectures and practicalsessions in Robotics, including areas such as robotic kinematics, dynamics, control systems,embedded programming, and perception.● Lab Management: Conduct and manage lab sessions using platforms like Arduino,Raspberry Pi, ROS (Robot Operating System), and simulation tools like Gazebo or Webots.● Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with faculty members, researchers, andindustry partners to enhance the robotics curriculum and align it with industry demands.● Academic Excellence & Student Success: Mentor students, assist with robotics projectwork, and ensure their academic and technical growth.● Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with university administrators and Newton Schoolrepresentatives to drive innovation in robotics education.● Research & Innovation: Encourage students to engage in research, roboticscompetitions, and real-world prototyping challenges.Qualifications & ExperienceMust-Have:● Prior experience as a Robotics Engineer, Embedded Systems Developer, or SoftwareDeveloper with a focus on robotics applications.● Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and experience withmicrocontrollers and hardware integration.● Hands-on expertise with robotics hardware (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, actuators)and frameworks like ROS.● Solid understanding of robotics principles, including control theory, localization, and pathplanning, and automation.● Strong ability to simplify complex robotics concepts and communicate effectively withstudents.Good-to-Have:● Prior teaching or mentoring experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.● Experience with AI/ML applications in robotics (e.g., computer vision, SLAM).● Familiarity with hardware prototyping, PCB design, or mechatronics systems.● Participation in or mentorship for robotics competitions (e.g., Robocon, RoboCup)
