Internal Auditor (Finance) plays a critical role in overseeing the organization’s financial operations to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in internal auditing, with a focus on corporate internal audits, budget audits, expense audits for top management. The auditor will implement and enforce robust internal controls to protect company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure efficient financial management. Should be flexible for frequent travelling to all locations within India where the company has a presence as and when needed.

Job Summary

  • Plan and conduct comprehensive financial audits as per the Internal Audit Calendar
  • Prepare audit scope and tour schedule for carrying out internal audits across company locations
  • Verify documents, account details, and figures for accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Examine company records, reports, operating practices, and documentation to ensure adherence to internal control procedures.
  • Identify inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and instances of misuse within financial processes.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations
  • Present findings to the Top Management and discuss areas of improvement
  • Oversee month-end and year-end financial closing processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to maintain compliance with financial regulations
  • Follow up with stake-holders on audit closures and update trackers

Key Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end auditing processes and deliver accurate results
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of organization budget audit to asses regulatory risk, financial risk and risk management
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA / ICWA certification preferred.
  • 10+ years as an Internal Auditor for companies with 3000+ employees
  • Strong understanding of internal corporate audits for management reporting
  • Prior experience with an Infrastructure or Construction company is desirable
  • Stability in previous job, minimum 2 years in the last profile
