Position: Database Reliability Engineer (YugaByte/PostgreSQL)

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Mumbai or Hyderabad

Criteria:

  • Notice:- Not more than 45 days
  • CTC:- Up to 30 LPA
  • Should not have any accepted offer on hand
  • Should be willing to sign an agreement to pay 2x monthly salary in the event of offer-drop. The company will compensate 4x monthly salary, if we are unable to honor our offer.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up distributed databases using YugaByte
  • Active member of the DevOps team that takes care of end to end integration of the distributed DB with underlying applications (web and mobile)
  • Write automation scripts to streamline the configuration and deployment side of the database scripts

Ensure code, configuration and other technology artifacts are delivered within agreed time schedules and any potential delays are escalated in advance

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of DBA experience.
  • Must experience as a DBA in Yugabyte environment
  • Primary Skill – Yugabyte DBA
  • Secondary skill – PostgreSQL DBA or any other distributed database environment
  • Hands on experience in developing and managing databases in YugaByte or PostgreSQL environment
  • Experienced in various DBA operational activities
  • SQL and data modelling skills in YugaByte or PostgreSQL environment
  • Experience with Linux scripting and Python
  • Exposure to DevOps skills in one or more of Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker
  • Familiarity in setting up clusters, configuring database environments and administration
  • Experience with DevOps including test and build automation tools and processes
  • Experience with relational database modelling
