PLC/CNC Programmer

About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PLC/CNC Programmer to join our Automation team to provide software solutions for our global clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems for our automated machinery, including both custom PLC-based systems and industrial CNC equipment. A strong background in industrial control logic, specifically with Siemens TIA Portal, is essential for success in this role.Programming and Development- Design, develop, and implement complex PLC programs from scratch based on functional specifications and P&IDs.- Strong proficiency in programming and commissioning industrial control systems using Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1500, S7-1200, S7-300).- Develop and integrate Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems (e.g., WinCC) for operator control and data visualization.- Develop and modify CNC programs (G-code, M-code) for multi-axis milling, turning, and grinding equipment (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens Sinumerik).Commissioning and Testing- Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) of control systems to ensure performance, safety, and compliance with specifications.- Perform on-site commissioning and startup of automated equipment, including tuning servo drives and variable frequency drives (VFDs).- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues on new and existing automated equipment.Documentation and Standards- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, program flowcharts, I/O lists, and operator manuals.- Ensure all programming and electrical installations comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, UL).- Implement and maintain version control for all PLC and CNC software.Required Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.- Core Skills:- Expertise in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram).- Proven experience with the Siemens TIA Portal platform for PLC/HMI development.- Demonstrated ability to program and troubleshoot CNC controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain).- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.Preferred Qualifications- Direct experience with motion control programming (servo systems, robotics).- Familiarity with functional safety programming (e.g., Siemens Safety Integrated).- Experience with other major PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Rockwell Automation).
