Job Title: Assistant Interior Designer


Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Interior Designer to support our design team in bringing innovative and functional interior spaces to life. This role involves assisting with all stages of the design process, from concept development to final execution. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for creating beautiful and practical spaces that meet client needs.


Key Responsibilities:


Design Support: Assist senior designers in developing design concepts, mood boards, and layouts for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.


Client Interaction: Attend client meetings, take notes, and follow up on design preferences and project requirements.


Project Coordination: Help with scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of design activities to ensure timely project delivery.


Material Selection: Research and recommend materials, furnishings, fixtures, and finishes that align with the project’s vision, budget, and sustainability goals.


Drafting and Rendering: Create digital and physical drafts, sketches, and 3D renderings to communicate design ideas to clients and contractors.


Space Planning: Assist with space planning, including furniture placement, lighting, and fixture layouts to enhance functionality and aesthetics.


Vendor Coordination: Communicate with vendors to source materials, request samples, and manage orders, deliveries, and installations.


Documentation and Compliance: Prepare project documentation, including floor plans, elevations, and detailed design specifications, ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.


On-Site Assistance: Conduct on-site visits to assist in quality control, track project progress, and ensure the design is implemented as planned.



Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.


1-3 years of experience in interior design, preferably with exposure to both residential and commercial projects.


Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), and other 3D rendering tools.


Strong understanding of design principles, color theory, and space planning.


Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.


Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.


A creative, flexible mindset with a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative design.



Preferred Skills:


Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials.


Familiarity with local and international design trends.


Basic project management skills and experience with design project timelines.



Working Conditions:

This role may require occasional travel to client sites and vendor locations, as well as the flexibility to work on weekends or evenings based on project deadlines.
