Role Summary:
The Renewable Energy Plant Operations Forecasting & Scheduling Analyst is responsible for overseeing the forecasting, scheduling, and optimal dispatch of energy generated by renewable assets (wind, solar, etc.). The role requires experience on communication and coordination with Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) and State Load Dispatch Centers (SLDCs) to ensure compliance with regulatory mandates, entitlements, and grid stability.
Key Tasks & Accountability:
Forecasting & Scheduling :
- Develop accurate energy generation forecasts based on weather data, historical trends, and plant capacity utilization.
- Prepare and submit day-ahead, intra-day, and real-time schedules in compliance with grid requirements.
- Monitor deviations from schedules and analyze factors affecting generation variability.
Dispatch Management :
- Optimize real-time energy dispatch to the grid based on demand, grid constraints, and regulatory norms.
- Coordinate and manage grid curtailment, generation adjustments, and ramping plans with DISCOMs and SLDCs.
Entitlement & Compliance :
- Maintain and track energy entitlements, agreements, and related contractual obligations with off-takers.
- Ensure compliance with power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other regulatory standards affecting plant operations.
Data Analysis & Reporting :
- Analyze real-time data on energy generation, weather conditions, and grid demand to provide actionable insights.
- Prepare reports on scheduling accuracy, deviations, curtailments, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in renewable energy forecasting, scheduling, and dispatch operations.
- Energy forecasting and scheduling from the Power Producer
- Real-time dispatch management in the Power Plants
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, entitlements, grid codes, and PPAs related to renewable energy.
- Familiarity with communication protocols and coordination processes with DISCOMs and SLDCs.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools/software used for forecasting and scheduling.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle real-time operational challenges.
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field; Master's preferred.
