About Lady Andal House of Children

Lady Andal House of Children (LAHOC) is an established special school in Chennai, founded by The Madras Seva Sadan, a renowned institution with a long-standing and respected legacy in education. Centrally located on a scenic campus, LAHOC is dedicated to providing special education and vocational training for children and adults with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Down Syndrome.

The school offers pre-vocational and vocational training programmer, including the NIOS curriculum, and is supported by a multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals providing physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.

We are building a dynamic team of special educators and educators to work with learners with multiple disabilities and to guide participants in the NIOS Program .LAHOC aims to support parents in the schooling journey of their special child by collecting a highly subsidised fee. We are looking for a skilled Special Educator who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive education. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), providing instructional support tailored to students' unique needs, maintaining thorough documentation and reporting, managing student behavior effectively, and adapting curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners. A commitment to collaboration, empathy, and continuous professional growth is essential.

Individualised Education Plans (IEPs): Develop, implement, and regularly review IEPs tailored to each student's needs, in collaboration with parents, therapists, and other school staff.

Curriculum Adaptation: Modify the standard curriculum to meet the abilities of students with disabilities.

Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, counsellors, and parents to support students' academic and social development.

Progress Monitoring: Assess and track student performance and progress regularly, adjusting goals accordingly.

Maintain a supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Professional Development: Participate in training and workshops to stay updated on special education practices, legal requirements, and instructional strategies.

Bachelor's or P.Diploma or Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent in Multiple Disabilities.

~3 to 7 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities

~ Bilingual medium of instruction requires candidates to be proficient in English and Tamil
