The Climate Change Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing climate and ESG risk frameworks, conducting scenario modeling, and ensuring compliance with  TCFD recommendations  and other regulatory requirements. The role requires collaboration with financial institutions, corporate clients, and internal teams to drive risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement  climate and ESG risk management frameworks  aligned with TCFD, IFRS, and other global standards.
Conduct  scenario analysis and modeling  to assess the financial impact of climate-related risks.
Integrate  ESG and climate risk factors  into banking and financial risk assessment processes.
Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with  climate risk regulations, sustainability disclosures, and industry best practices.
Provide insights on  transition and physical risks  in the banking and financial sector.
Assist in  stress testing, risk quantification, and mitigation strategies  for financial institutions.
Lead  risk governance and reporting , ensuring transparency and accountability in ESG risk assessments.
Collaborate with  internal teams, regulators, investors, and external stakeholders  to drive sustainability-focused risk management.
Support  project implementation and change management  for climate risk adaptation and mitigation initiatives.
Monitor  emerging climate and ESG risks , regulatory changes, and industry trends to inform risk strategy.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in  Finance, Economics, Sustainability, Risk Management, or a related field.
5+ years  of experience in  banking, risk management, or financial services , with a focus on climate and ESG risks.
Strong understanding of  TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures), climate risk modeling, and stress testing.
Hands-on experience in  scenario analysis, risk assessment frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of  financial risk modeling tools and methodologies.
Experience in implementing  climate risk and ESG risk strategies  within financial institutions.
Familiarity with  global sustainability standards  (e.g., ISSB, SBTi, EU Taxonomy, IFRS, SASB, and GRI).
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate  complex risk data  into actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills, with experience in presenting to  senior management, boards, and regulators.
Experience managing  cross-functional projects  and working with diverse stakeholders.
Professional certifications such as  FRM, CFA (with ESG focus), or PRM  are a plus.
