Build and code repository maintenance engineer

Job Title: Build and Code Repository Maintenance Engineer Purpose: The Build and Code Repository Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining automated build scripts, managing source control, and developing static code analysis and IP violation analysis scripts. This role requires a strong understanding of software development, source control management, and automation tools. Areas Of Responsibility: Automated Build Scripts: Design, develop, and maintain automated build scripts. Implement and manage daily and weekly build schedules. Ensure builds are efficient, reliable, and scalable. Collaborate with development teams to integrate build scripts into the CI/CD pipeline. Source Control Management: Manage and maintain source control repositories (e.g., Git, SVN). Implement best practices for branching, merging, and versioning. Monitor and optimize repository performance and storage. Static Code Analysis: Develop and maintain static code analysis scripts to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards. Integrate static code analysis tools into the CI/CD pipeline. Generate and review code quality reports, providing feedback to development teams. IP Violation Analysis: Create and maintain scripts for IP violation analysis to ensure compliance with licensing and copyright regulations. Conduct regular audits of code repositories for potential IP violations. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any identified issues. Build Analytics and Log Management: Implement build analytics to monitor and improve build performance. Store and manage build logs using NFS storage. Analyse build logs to identify and resolve issues. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features. Provide support and guidance to development teams on build and source control issues. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in build automation, source control, and code analysis. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new tools and processes to improve efficiency and quality. Participate in training and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote best practices. Scheduler and CI/CD Management: Manage and configure Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment. Set up and maintain build schedulers for automated builds. Raise and track JIRA tickets for build-related issues and improvements. Experience: 1-5 years of experience in software development and build automation. Proven experience with source control management and CI/CD tools. Experience in writing and maintaining build scripts and code analysis tools. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Diploma in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Strong knowledge of source control systems (e.g., Git, SVN). Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Circle CI). Experience with static code analysis tools (e.g., Sonar Qube, ESLint). Understanding of IP compliance and licensing issues. Technical And Behavioural Skills Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages and build automation tools. Strong understanding of source control management and best practices. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools. Knowledge of static code analysis and IP violation analysis. Experience with build analytics and log management. Familiarity with JIRA for issue tracking and project management Behavioural Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy. Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset Qualifiers for the Role / Necessary Experience and Skills Required for the Role Diploma/BCA/MCA or degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
