Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Funding to join our executive team. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing and securing funding from seed investors and early-stage venture capitalists. The VP of Funding will be instrumental in driving capital-raising strategies, fostering investor relationships, and ensuring that our funding efforts align with the company’s growth objectives.
This role requires a visionary leader with extensive experience in the investment landscape, particularly in securing seed-stage funding. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of cultivating strong investor networks, managing equity partnerships, and structuring investment deals to support the company’s expansion.
Key Responsibilities 1. Fundraising Strategy and Execution Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to attract seed and early-stage investors.
Identify potential investors, including angel investors, venture capital firms, family offices, and strategic investment partners.
Create compelling investment pitches, presentations, and supporting materials tailored to various investor profiles.
Lead end-to-end investment processes, including negotiation, due diligence, and contract finalization.
Oversee fundraising campaigns and manage investor outreach strategies to maximize engagement.
2. Investor Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key investors, ensuring consistent engagement and communication.
Act as the primary point of contact for investors, addressing inquiries, providing performance updates, and ensuring transparency.
Cultivate long-term partnerships with investors to secure repeat funding opportunities and promote equity participation.
Organize investor events, meetings, and networking opportunities to enhance engagement and build trust.
3. Strategic Partnerships and Equity Management Identify potential partners and develop strategic alliances to strengthen the company’s investment ecosystem.
Structure and negotiate equity-sharing agreements with investors, ensuring win-win partnerships.
Collaborate with legal and financial advisors to structure funding deals that align with company growth plans.
Manage ownership stakes, equity dilution, and shareholder expectations to balance company control and investor interests.
4. Financial and Legal Oversight Ensure all fundraising efforts comply with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
Work with legal teams to draft term sheets, shareholder agreements, and partnership contracts.
Monitor investment terms, equity distribution, and compliance throughout the fundraising cycle.
Oversee banking relationships, ensuring the company’s financial transactions align with investment activities.
5. Leadership and Team Development Build and manage a high-performing fundraising team with specialized expertise in investment strategies.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to team members to ensure effective investor engagement.
Collaborate with internal departments, including finance, legal, and product teams, to align funding efforts with business objectives.
Key Qualifications and Experience Essential Qualifications Minimum 10+ years of experience in fundraising, investment banking, venture capital, or related financial sectors.
Proven track record of securing seed-stage and early-stage investments for startups or growing companies.
Strong network of contacts with angel investors, seed investors, and venture capitalists.
Demonstrated expertise in structuring investment deals involving equity and partnership frameworks.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close complex funding agreements.
Expertise in managing investment processes, including valuation, due diligence, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications Background in investment banking , private equity , or legal advisory in financial transactions.
Strong understanding of legal frameworks governing investment agreements, equity distribution, and partnership contracts.
Experience working in high-growth startups, especially in fintech, tech-enabled services, or emerging markets.
Master’s degree in Finance , Law , Economics , or a related field is preferred.

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) The success of the VP of Funding will be measured by:
Amount of capital raised through seed and early-stage investors.
Number of strategic investor partnerships formed.
Successful closure of equity-based funding agreements.
Maintenance of strong investor relationships with consistent engagement.
Alignment of fundraising efforts with the company’s growth targets and milestones.
