Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our team as Assistant Manager/ Manager - Category Operations for the Interior Designing category. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in category management , P&L ownership , and an in-depth understanding of the home décor, furnishing, or interior designing industry . This role requires a proactive approach to driving growth, managing operations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Management
Develop and execute category strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Manage product assortment, pricing, and inventory to ensure market competitiveness and customer satisfaction.
Identify and onboard new products, suppliers, and partnerships to enhance the category portfolio.
P&L Management
Own the P&L for the Interior Designing category, ensuring profitability and cost optimization.
Monitor and analyze category performance metrics, including sales, margins, and inventory turns.
Plan and execute strategies to improve gross margins and overall category contribution.
Operational Excellence
Work closely with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely stock replenishment and order fulfillment.
Oversee category-specific operational processes, such as vendor negotiations, product quality checks, and customer service escalations.
Collaborate with design, tech, and marketing teams to optimize customer journeys and increase conversions.
Market and Consumer Insights
Conduct competitor analysis and stay updated on market trends within the home décor and interior designing space.
Gather customer insights to improve category offerings and enhance customer satisfaction.
Sales and Promotion
Partner with marketing teams to create impactful campaigns and promotions tailored to the Interior Designing category.
Drive sales performance through pricing strategies, discount plans, and bundling options.
Team Collaboration
Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as sales, product development, and operations for seamless execution.
Mentor and guide junior team members to build a high-performing category team.
Desired Skill Sets:
4–8 years of experience in category management and P&L ownership in the home décor, furnishing, interior designing, or home products domain .
Proven track record of driving category growth and profitability.
Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
