Position: Deputy/Assistant General Counsel


Location: Bangalore or Hyderabad


Position Summary: The Deputy/Assistant General Counsel will primarily address transactional, and contracts matters but will also handle corporate governance and other legal issues that may arise, including employment matters if needed. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to legal issues, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks for the company.


Job Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and transactional documents, including client agreements, vendor contracts, licensing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Provide legal advice on corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Address employment-related legal issues as they arise, providing guidance and support to the internal team.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure legal risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of company policies, ensuring legal compliance and best practices.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and emerging legal trends in the IT services industry in India and advise the company accordingly.
  • Handle or coordinate the resolution of legal disputes, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution methods. Manage external legal counsel as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited law school in India.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in transactional and contracts law, specifically in the IT Services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate, contract, intellectual property, and employment law in India.
  • Experience in international law or cross-border transactions.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations in India.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
