Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned QA Lead to guide our quality assurance efforts across data solutions, business intelligence (BI), Customer Data Platform (CDP) implementations, and manual testing processes. This role will oversee end-to-end data quality, verification, and validation efforts that ensure our data and customer insights are reliable, consistent, and actionable. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data quality practices, CDP management, and a proven track record in leading QA teams focused on complex data systems.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

• Lead and mentor a team of QA Engineers, setting quality standards and best practices across data testing, CDP validation, Journey testing, Platform Integration Testing and BI solutions.
• Develop QA strategy, approach, and execution for data-related projects, focusing on data quality from ETL pipelines to CDP integrations, Journey testing and build test cases and BI platforms.
• Collaborate with data engineering, marketing, analytics, and product teams to align on QA goals, data quality requirements, and customer data insights.
• Provide insights and reporting on quality metrics, driving continuous improvement across testing and validation processes.
• Assign tasks, manage priorities, and ensure the team meets project deadlines and quality standards.
• Establish and enforce best practices for QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Act as a key point of contact for all QA-related activities, ensuring alignment across teams.

Journey Testing:

• Partner with the stakeholders in understanding journey requirements, identify success metrics & expected outcomes for testing and strategize the testing methodology.
• Develop and templatize a comprehensive test plan, including Functional Testing, Integration Testing, Performance Testing, Usability Testing, Regression Testing.
• Templatize the test documents/checklist, test scenarios based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure the Team performs all the above-mentioned tests and capture the test results in the document.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to stakeholders.

Data Testing, CDP, & Validation:

• Oversee the development of test plans and data validation strategies for ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency in data pipelines, BI tools, and CDP systems.
• Lead efforts to validate data integration within CDPs, ensuring accurate segmentation, personalization, and data flows across marketing, sales, and customer touchpoints.
• Coordinate data quality assurance across CDP processes to ensure customer profiles are accurate and consistent, facilitating personalized customer experiences.
• Validate data transformations, data modeling, and reconciliation across various data sources, ensuring quality data outputs.

Testing & Quality Control:

• Supervise manual testing of applications, managing test cases, documentation, and defect tracking.
• Drive the team’s focus on exploratory, regression, and cross-platform testing to deliver a seamless user experience.
• Ensure adherence to QA processes, including test case management, test data setup, and test result documentation.
• Analyze testing data to identify trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Secondary Job Responsibilities :

BI and Data Solutions Testing:

• Lead QA efforts for BI solutions, including functional and regression testing of BI dashboards, reports, and analytics tools.
• Work with BI and data analytics teams to validate data models, ensure accurate reporting, and verify data aggregation methods.
• Define best practices for data verification in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and QlikView to ensure high data quality and reliability.

Automation and Scripting:

• Establish automation strategies for data validation and CDP testing, using SQL and Python to streamline repetitive data verification tasks.
• Implement automation frameworks for CDP and data pipeline validation, improving test coverage and reliability of customer data insights.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years in Quality Engineering, with at least 3 years in a QA lead role overseeing data validation, Journey testing and deployments, custom integration testing and BI testing.
• Expertise in data testing for ETL pipelines, CDP platforms, and data transformation processes.
• Proven experience in leading QA teams, setting testing strategies, and managing complex testing efforts.
• Strong expertise in manual and automated testing methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience in testing and validating data integrations within CDPs like Adobe Experience Platform, Tealium etc.
• Experience in testing any Marketing Automation Platforms like Adobe Campaign, SFMC, Marketo, Eloqua etc
• Strong SQL skills; experience with data validations, data quality checks and API based testing etc
• Proficiency in testing BI solutions such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView to ensure accuracy in reporting and analytics will be an added advantage.
• Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks, including metrics and compliance standards. Strong expertise in manual and automated testing methodologies and tools.
