Sustainability ethos is engrained in multiple aspects of the Group’s businesses.    Role:   We are looking for seasoned Agronomist / Permaculture Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have deep understanding of permaculture principles and practices, organic farming along with hands-on experience in designing and implementing sustainable ecosystems. Your work will involve creating environmentally friendly landscapes that foster biodiversity, enhance soil health, and optimize resource utilization, and promoting sustainable land management practices. The position also requires adaptability and readiness to engage in permaculture-oriented international project based in Uganda, Africa for a designated period.   Key Responsibilities  1. Design Sustainable Ecosystems   Design and implement organic farming / permaculture systems tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of the organization.  Conduct site assessments to analyze the soil composition, climatic conditions, water flow, and existing vegetation.  Develop comprehensive permaculture designs that integrate elements such as food forests, water harvesting systems, companion planting arrangements, and natural pest management strategies.  2. Implementation of Design Plan   To lead the installation and maintenance of permaculture systems, ensuring proper implementation of design plans.  Incorporate sustainable practices like composting, mulching, and organic gardening techniques into the implementation process.  3. Collaboration with teams   Collaborate closely with internal teams, including landscaping crews and project managers, to facilitate seamless project execution  Liaise with external consultants and stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment with project goals.  Stay updated on the latest research, innovations, and best practices in permaculture and related fields.  4. Monitoring & Evaluation   Monitor and maintain permaculture systems, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.  Analyze data and feedback to make informed adjustments and improvements as needed.  Maintain detailed records documenting permaculture designs, implementation processes, and outcomes   Qualifications and Skills   Bachelor's or higher degree in permaculture design, sustainable agriculture, organic farming, environmental science, or a related field.  Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing permaculture projects.  Profound understanding of ecological principles, soil science, and sustainable farming practices.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.  Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.  Familiarity with relevant tools, software, and technologies used in permaculture design, such as GIS software and permaculture design software.  Demonstrated project management abilities, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively  Candidates should be open to travel for our Uganda based project for a certain period initially, to oversee and support permaculture initiatives.   Join us in “Securing a brighter tomorrow” through innovative technology solutions.
