Job Title: Rotomation Artist
Client: (People Media Factory).
Location: Hyderabad
Job Summary:
The Rotomation Artist will be responsible for accurately matching live-action performance with 3D animation, replicating the movement and positioning of actors, props, and cameras. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of animation principles, character motion, and body mechanics. The ideal candidate has a passion for animation, an eye for detail, and a solid grasp of human and animal motion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Match live-action character movements to create 3D animations that seamlessly blend with live-action footage.
• Use reference footage to recreate performances in 3D, maintaining high accuracy in timing, positioning, and perspective.
• Ensure accurate alignment of props, character rigging, and camera angles to achieve realistic motion matching.
• Work closely with animators, motion capture technicians, and supervisors to ensure animation consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with the compositing and VFX teams to troubleshoot and solve any challenges related to motion alignment.
• Refine motion to eliminate any inconsistencies in the integration process, focusing on enhancing the realism of character and object movements.
• Maintain project timelines and quality standards, delivering rotomation work within deadlines.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Rotomation Artist or in a similar role within a VFX or animation studio.
• Proficiency in 3D software such as Maya, Blender, or similar tools used for character animation and rigging.
• Strong understanding of body mechanics, animation principles, and motion capture techniques.
• Attention to detail, particularly in accurately matching the subtleties of live-action performances.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple shots while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with different departments.
