Job Description: GITAM(Deemed to be University) Visakhapatnam is looking for faculty for GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences Specializations as mentioned below:1 Carnatic Music(Vocal): The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching Carnatic music at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, conducting research, and contributing to the academic community through departmental service and engagement with students. Develop and deliver courses in Carnatic music theory, performance, and history. Teach instrumental and vocal music classes, including both group and individual lessons. Supervise student performances and projects, providing mentorship and guidance. Qualification: A Master’s degree or higher in Music, with a specialization in Carnatic music. Teaching experience in Carnatic music at the college level is preferred. Proficiency in vocal or instrumental Carnatic music. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students.2 Kuchipudi Dance: The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching Kuchipudi Dance at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, conducting research, and contributing to the academic community through departmental service and engagement with students. Contribute to the design and enhancement of the Kuchipudi dance curriculum. Collaborate with faculty to integrate interdisciplinary approaches in the curriculum. Engage in research related to Kuchipudi dance, including its cultural significance, techniques, and pedagogy. Qualification: A Master’s degree or higher in Dance, with a specialization in Kuchipudi. Teaching experience in Kuchipudi or related dance forms at the college level is preferred. Proficiency in Kuchipudi dance and performance. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
