Lead Software Engineer (Splatform)

We are looking for a solid lead engineer that can work with and pick up many different languages and tools. The ideal candidate should be willing and capable of picking up new tools and languages to do their job. The main tech stack in Splash is PHP, TypeScript and a little bit of Go. So expect to work with PHP and TS on a day-to-day basis. Cvent's preferred technology stack includes Java which we will gradually adopt into the Splash codebase.

In This Role, You Will:

• Design and implement scalable, robust, and flexible integration solutions tailored to business needs.
• Work with Kubernetes, database optimization, and AWS cloud-native technologies to evolve our architecture.
• Modernize our PHP-based and Golang stack and ensure smooth interaction between legacy and modern components.
• Collaborate with your Scrum team to scope, estimate, implement, and test new features and fixes.
• Deliver features, improvements, and fixes with a predictable and timely cadence.
• Be the technical lead on projects with 3-4 other engineers. Lead initiatives, and facilitate engagement with other stakeholders.
• Mentor other engineers on best practices, architectural patterns, and technologies.
• Contribute to platform stability and performance improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and attention to detail while fostering a positive team environment.

Here’s What You Need:

Primary Skills

• Expertise in backend development using Java.
• 8+ years of development experience with a strong focus on scalable and maintainable solutions
• Proven experience designing and managing systems that move and synchronize data across platforms at scale
• Experience optimizing database and query performance in high-traffic or data-intensive applications
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to prototype solutions quickly when needed.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in distributed or fully remote teams.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Preferred Skills

• Expertise in backend development using languages like PHP, TypeScript/Node.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize integrations with external systems like Salesforce, Marketo, and HubSpot.
• Experience working with AWS technologies and infrastructure as code (e.g. Cloud Development Kit, Terraform etc.)
• Experience presenting technical ideas, solutions, or approaches to other team members.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React, and experience collaborating across the stack when needed.
• Knowledge of database optimization techniques and performance tuning for large datasets.
• Passion for learning and adopting new technologies.

Familiarity with Kubernetes for managing containerized workloads.
