About the Role
We’re looking for a talented and driven Web Developer with 2–3 years of experience to join our growing team. This role will focus on front-end and back-end development for Shopify and WordPress websites. You’ll collaborate with a remote team to deliver high-quality, responsive websites, enhancing user experiences and building robust e-commerce solutions. Key Responsibilities
Shopify Development
- Customise and develop Shopify themes based on client specifications.
- Implement and optimise e-commerce functionalities, including product pages, checkout processes, and inventory management.
- Integrate third-party applications and services with Shopify stores.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Shopify-related issues, ensuring cross-browser and cross-device functionality.
WordPress Development
- Design and implement custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Develop and maintain content-driven websites with a focus on scalability and performance.
- Integrate third-party services (e.g., CRM, email marketing) with WordPress sites.
- Manage and update existing WordPress sites, including security patches and plugin updates.
Front-End Development
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end technologies.
- Ensure responsive design across all devices and platforms.
- Optimise websites for speed and performance.
Back-End Development
- Build, test, and deploy custom functionalities for Shopify and WordPress back-ends.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, including APIs, database configurations, and optimisations.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work closely with designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality website functionality and user experience.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and team discussions to support continuous improvement.
Maintenance and Support
- Provide ongoing maintenance and technical support for existing sites.
- Implement bug fixes, updates, and enhancements to improve user experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience : 2–3 years of hands-on experience with Shopify and WordPress development (both front-end and back-end).
- Technical Skills : Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and Liquid (Shopify templating language).
- Tools and Plugins : Experience with popular page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery) and custom theme development.
- E-commerce Proficiency : Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices and familiarity with Shopify’s admin interface, themes, and apps.
- WordPress Expertise : Knowledge of WordPress plugin architecture, custom post types, and taxonomies.
- Version Control : Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- APIs and Web Services : Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
- Optimisation & Security : Proven experience with performance optimisation and security best practices.
- Remote Work Skills : Ability to work independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills in a remote work environment.
- Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Shopify Plus, Advanced Shopify features, or custom Shopify apps.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and familiarity with site analytics tools.
- Experience with cloud hosting platforms (e.g., AWS, DigitalOcean).
- Understanding of Agile development practices and tools like Jira or Trello.
