About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior n8n Lead Developer to architect, develop, and optimize automation workflows for an AI-driven Real Estate product in the USA. This role is a hybrid of hands-on development and technical leadership , where the developer will work closely with the Business Consultant and engineering team to deliver scalable automation and data-processing workflows. You will be responsible for building complex n8n automations, integrating with various APIs, guiding junior developers, reviewing workflows, and ensuring best engineering practices. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain advanced n8n automation workflows at production scale. Develop custom nodes, scripts, and logic flows using JavaScript/TypeScript. Implement complex integrations with APIs, CRM platforms, real estate data sources, MLS feeds, and external services. Optimize workflows for error handling, retries, logging, and performance. Lead the automation development efforts and ensure high-quality delivery. Review workflows created by other developers and enforce best practices. Mentor developers, help solve technical challenges, and guide them on workflow design. Collaborate with the Business Consultant to turn requirements into technical architecture. Integrate AI/LLM-based components into automation pipelines (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, etc.). Implement data extraction, transformation, and enrichment workflows. Work with vector databases, embedding pipelines, and AI tools where applicable. Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, AI engineers, and business stakeholders. Participate in requirement discussions and contribute to solution design. Communicate progress, risks, blockers, and technical considerations effectively. Required Skills & Experience 3–5+ years hands-on experience with n8n (must have built production-level workflows). Ability to design scalable workflow architectures and reusable automation components. 5–8+ years of experience in backend development or automation engineering. Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript ; Python is a plus. Deep knowledge of REST APIs, Webhooks, OAuth2, JWT, and third-party integrations. Experience with workflow optimization, error-handling patterns, and automation lifecycle management. Familiarity with Docker, Postgres, version control, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience integrating LLMs, embeddings, or AI services into automation workflows (preferred). Understanding of automation patterns, data pipelines, and real-time processing. Strong ownership mindset. Excellent communication and stakeholder management. Ability to work independently and support other developers when needed. Analytical and solution-focused approach.
