Customer Identity Architect – Autodesk IAM PlatformAutodesk is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customer Identity Architect to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) Platform team.The Autodesk IAM Platform is a foundational service that provides secure, seamless, and scalable access across 150+ Autodesk desktop, web, mobile applications, and connected devices.It powers core capabilities such as authentication and authorization, serving millions of users worldwide and enabling a growing ecosystem of third-party developers and integrations.In this role, you will lead the architecture and evolution of the Authentication capability , a critical component of Autodesk’s IAM platform.You’ll be responsible for designing and guiding the development of secure, resilient, and customer-centric authentication services that integrate deeply with Autodesk’s product landscape.As a technical leader for the IAM team in India, you will provide architectural direction, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams.You’ll collaborate closely with global architects and stakeholders across the broader IAM organization to shape and drive platform strategy and execution.This position reports to the Senior Director of the IAM Platform and is based in India .The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the architecture and design of modern Customer Identity (CIAM) platforms, with a proven track record of delivering at scale in cloud-native environments.ResponsibilitiesArchitect and drive the implementation of CIAM solutions across Autodesk products and platformsDesign secure, scalable authentication and authorization flows for Autodesk customersImplement and manage OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and social/federated login mechanismsLead technical discussions and decisions across internal teams and external partnersEvaluate future architecture directions through models and prototypesEnsure solutions meet quality attributes: security, scalability, and resilienceCollaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into well-designed servicesContribute to short- and long-term technology roadmapsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience10+ years of experience as a hands-on software architectProven leadership in architecting global SaaS applications at scaleDemonstrated experience in Customer Identity (CIAM) systemsHands-on with CIAM platforms like Auth0, PingOne for Customers, ForgeRock AM, Okta CIAMStrong grasp of OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, PKCE, SAML, and MFADeep understanding of customer authentication flows, security practices, and privacy standards (e.g., GDPR)Broad experience with modern SaaS development tools and frameworksStrong knowledge of cloud-native architectures: microservices, event sourcing, REST/GraphQL APIs, container orchestrationExperience with automated CI/CD workflows and infrastructure as codeSubstantial experience building cloud services on AWS and other major cloud providersProficient with monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic), root cause analysis, alerting, and log navigationNice to HaveExperience with identity SDKs and APIsFamiliarity with risk-based authentication, bot detection, and fraud preventionExposure to progressive profiling, consent management, and external identity federationExperience integrating identity services with mobile and web appsHands-on experience with CIAM tool evaluation and vendor integration
