We at Azim Premji Foundation are working to improve the health of the underserved communities living in urban settlements of Bangalore.
Since 2022, we have started an integrated community health program across 5 locations in Bangalore. At each location, we have our Health Centre, and a team of Community Health Workers managed by a local not-for-profit organisation.
The Health Centres (with a team of doctors, nurses, a pharmacist and a lab technician) provide primary health services to the patients targeting a cluster of urban settlements in its neighborhood
The Community Health Workers support the patients and the target community at large on health awareness and health education, community-level screening, follow-ups etc. in coordination with the Health Centre teams
The team also collaborates with the local public health systems to facilitate the necessary services and benefits to the communities
As a Community Health Coordinator , you will be working closely with the above people to:
Engaging with the local not-for profit organisation to build a standardised community health program
Capacity building of the Community Health Workers through field engagements and group interactions
Coordination with the Health Centre teams on effective planning and execution of the community outreach work
Engaging with local public systems including Anganwadis and PHCs to strengthen the health work in the location
To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:
Masters degree in public health/social work with 8 years of relevant work experience
An unwavering commitment to serve the communities, and the resilience to work full-time in an evolving environment
Fluency in Kannada and Hindi language is preferred, as is understanding of public health and data analytics
Base work location: St. Marks Road, Bangalore. This role will involve travel to multiple locations in Bangalore (Bellandur, Peenya, Hebbal, Kengeri and Thubarahalli) where our Health Centres are set up.
