Position Overview: Universal Bus Services, a prominent intercity bus transportation company, is looking for an experienced Maintenance and Service Head to oversee the maintenance operations of our fleet. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining our operational excellence and service reliability by ensuring that all vehicles are maintained in top condition and serviced in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance procedures and service standards to ensure alignment with industry safety and quality regulations. Coordinate closely with OEMs and authorized service centers to facilitate timely servicing, repairs, and procurement of parts. Ensure that turnaround times (TAT) for maintenance and repairs are strictly adhered to, minimizing vehicle downtime and maximizing fleet availability. Manage a team of technicians and service personnel, providing leadership, training, and support to enhance their skills and performance. Schedule and oversee regular vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance to extend vehicle lifespan and reduce the likelihood of unplanned repairs. Manage maintenance budgets, negotiate service contracts, and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-efficient operations. Address and resolve any issues related to vehicle performance and maintenance quality, ensuring continuous improvement in service standards. Prepare and present regular reports on fleet maintenance status, challenges, and performance metrics to senior management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related technical field. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance management, preferably in the bus transportation or automotive sector. Extensive experience working with bus OEMs such as TATA, Ashok Leyland, VECV, or their authorized service centers is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high service standards in a fast-paced environment. Proven leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate a skilled team. Proficiency in maintenance management systems and software. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Language Proficiency: Fluency in Tamil, English, Hindi, and Telugu is required.
