The Senior Rebar BIM Modeler is responsible for creating, maintaining, and coordinating high-quality 3D rebar models using BIM tools and software. This role requires expertise in rebar detailing, BIM modeling, and coordination with various project stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of reinforced concrete structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop 3D rebar models using BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Tekla Structures, or equivalent.
Review structural drawings and specifications to interpret and model rebar layouts accurately.
Prepare detailed rebar shop drawings, schedules, and bar bending schedules (BBS) for fabrication and construction.
Collaborate with project engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure that models meet design requirements and are in line with project goals.
Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts by coordinating with other disciplines (MEP, architectural, structural) in BIM models.
Manage rebar modeling standards, ensuring compliance with industry codes and project-specific requirements.
Support project teams by providing expertise in rebar detailing and assisting in the resolution of complex modeling issues.
Coordinate with the BIM Manager to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of models and drawings.
Mentor junior modelers and provide technical guidance to improve team capabilities.
Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices in BIM and rebar detailing.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in rebar detailing and BIM modeling.
Proficiency in BIM tools like Autodesk Revit, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete detailing standards and codes (ACI, BS, IS, etc.).
Excellent understanding of structural and architectural drawings.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Preferred Skills:
Advanced knowledge of bar bending schedules (BBS) and rebar material specifications.
Experience in large-scale or complex construction projects.
Ability to work independently and lead modeling efforts for projects.
Familiarity with cloud-based BIM collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360).
