Job Summary: The College Admission Counselor plays a key role in guiding prospective students through the college application process. This includes providing information about academic programs, admissions requirements, and financial aid options. The position involves recruitment, application evaluation, and ensuring a smooth transition for students from inquiry to enrolment.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment: Represent the institution at college fairs and high school visits to promote programs and engage prospective students.
Admissions Counselling: Advise students on application procedures, deadlines, academic offerings, and assist them in selecting suitable courses based on their academic background, interests, and career aspirations.
Application Review: Evaluate applications, including academic records, test scores, essays, and recommendations.
Communication: Serve as the primary contact for applicants, providing regular updates and offering guidance throughout the admissions process.
Collaboration: Partner with other departments, such as financial aid, to ensure a seamless admissions experience for students.
Client Interaction: Conduct tele-calling sessions with prospective clients to discuss their educational goals and guide them in selecting the most appropriate study programs.
Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, processed applications, and follow-up actions.
Experience Required:
1-5 years of experience in admissions counselling or a related field in the education industry is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, as well as travel for recruitment events.
