The Associate Dean – Academic Affairs is a senior academic leader responsible for advancing the academic vision, teaching excellence, and scholarly engagement of the School of Liberal Arts & Humanities. The role ensures that the School’s programs maintain global standards of quality, innovation, and relevance, while fostering an inclusive and intellectually vibrant environment for students and faculty.Key ResponsibilitiesA. Academic Leadership & Governance- Support the Dean in implementing the School’s strategic plan with a focus on academic excellence.- Oversee curriculum design, review, and enhancement to align with international benchmarks and industry relevance.- Lead accreditation, compliance, and quality assurance processes (NAAC, UGC, QS, etc.).- Chair or co-chair key academic committees within the School.B. Teaching, Learning & Pedagogy- Promote and implement innovative teaching-learning methodologies, including technology-enabled and experiential approaches.- Establish academic standards for course delivery, student evaluation, and faculty performance.- Champion interdisciplinary and challenge-based learning within the Liberal Arts ecosystem.- Mentor faculty in pedagogy, assessment, and curriculum innovation.C. Research & Scholarship- Encourage faculty-led research, publications, and collaborations across disciplines.- Facilitate the integration of student research and independent study projects into the curriculum.- Support grant applications, research funding, and partnerships with global institutions.D. Student Success & Engagement- Ensure academic advising, mentorship, and counseling support for student growth and retention.- Foster student participation in conferences, debates, publications, and global exchange programs.- Oversee mechanisms for continuous feedback and improvement in student learning outcomes.E. External Engagement & Partnerships- Represent the School in academic and professional forums, both nationally and internationally.- Build partnerships with industry, research bodies, and cultural organizations to enhance student opportunities.- Work closely with global partners for exchange programs, joint research, and dual-degree offerings.Qualifications & Experience- Education: Ph.D. (mandatory) in a relevant field within the Liberal Arts & Humanities.- Experience: Minimum 12–15 years of academic experience with at least 5 years in a leadership/administrative role.- Strong track record of teaching excellence, scholarly publications, and research contributions.- Familiarity with global higher education standards, accreditation frameworks, and curriculum innovation.- Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills.
