We’re a diverse team of trailblazers, engineers, designers, creatives and visionaries—united by a shared obsession: to craft machines that are not only sustainable but exhilarating. Here, radical design meets intelligent technology, and every line of code or bolt of hardware brings us closer to reshaping the future of mobility.
As an Senior Design Engineer at Ultraviolette Automotive, you will be responsible for designing and integrating wiring harnesses for electric two-wheelers, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Role includes 3D/2D design, prototyping, testing, and cross-functional collaboration using tools like Capital XC, Zuken, or CREO.
Design & Development: Lead the design and development of wiring harnesses for 2W electric vehicles including component selection, 3D routing, 2D drafting, test plan creation, ensuring all electrical connections are efficient, safe, and compliant with industry standards.
Integration: Collaborate with the vehicle architecture team to integrate wiring harnesses into the overall EV design, ensuring proper placement and routing.
Specification & BOM: Create and manage detailed wiring harness specifications, electrical diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for production.
Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the prototyping, validation, and testing of wiring harnesses in prototype vehicles. Ensure electrical systems are tested for functionality, reliability, and safety under various operating conditions.
CAD & Tools: Use advanced CAD software (e.g., Capital XC, Zuken, SolidWorks or CREO, etc) to design and model wiring harnesses, ensuring high-quality designs and optimal space utilization.
Ensure wiring harness designs comply with all relevant standards, regulations, and best practices, including ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 (Quality Management).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the wiring harness design process, focusing on cost optimization, weight reduction, and performance enhancement.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical designers, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth integration of wiring harness designs into production vehicles.
Troubleshoot and resolve wiring harness-related issues in prototype and production vehicles, providing effective solutions in a timely manner.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in wiring harness design, with at least 3 years working in electric vehicle or automotive design.
Proven experience with the design and development of electrical systems and wiring harnesses for 2W/3W/4W, ideally in electric vehicles.
Expertise in wiring harness design and CAD tools (e.g., Capital XC, Zuken, SolidWorks or CREO, etc)
Strong knowledge of electrical components, connectors, and vehicle power distribution systems.
Understanding of industry standards for electrical design (ISO 26262, UL, etc.).
Proficiency in using simulation and analysis tools for electrical system performance (e.g., current, voltage, heat dissipation).
A passion for sustainable mobility and electric vehicle technologies.
Experience with electrical systems in two-wheeler vehicles (electric or conventional).
Knowledge of automotive-grade materials and manufacturing processes related to wiring harnesses.
Experience with high-voltage systems and battery management systems (BMS) for electric vehicles.
Familiarity with electric vehicle charging infrastructure and related components.
Understanding of thermal management strategies for wiring and electrical components in electric vehicles.
