We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our database systems, ensuring high performance, security, and availability. The ideal candidate will have experience in database administration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with front-end web portals and chatbots. A strong understanding of database management practices, including troubleshooting, scaling, and maintaining databases across different platforms, is essential.
Job Responsibilities
Provision, configure, and maintain databases across multiple platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery tasks to safeguard data integrity and minimize downtime.
Install, configure, and upgrade database systems as necessary to maintain a secure, efficient, and scalable environment.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance to ensure efficient use of resources such as CPU, memory, and storage.
Collaborate with database developers to implement performance tuning strategies and resolve database bottlenecks.
Implement and enforce database security best practices, including role-based access control, data encryption, and auditing.
Work with the security team to ensure databases are protected from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
Develop, test, and execute backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
Regularly verify backup integrity and conduct recovery drills to test and improve recovery processes.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure smooth database operations across production, testing, and development environments.
Provide database support for various application projects and ensure the databases meet the needs of the business.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, backups, troubleshooting procedures, and other related processes.
Generate regular reports on database performance, availability, and security status.
Follow and enforce change control procedures to manage and document database changes.
Track and resolve database incidents and service requests promptly to minimize operational impact.
Required Experience:
4 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), managing and optimizing production databases across multiple environments (development, testing, and production).
Expertise in database architecture, design, performance tuning , and lifecycle management for both relational and No SQL databases.
Experience managing the entire product database , including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning for large-scale applications.
Strong knowledge of backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data protection and minimal downtime. (In AWS)
Hands-on experience with high availability , data replication , and scaling for large transaction volumes across distributed systems.
Proficiency in database security practices, including role-based access, encryption, and compliance with security standards.
Proven ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to align database infrastructure with product and business goals.
Experience with database monitoring tools , troubleshooting, and resolving issues proactively.
Solid understanding of change control procedures for database modifications and configuration management.
Additional Skills (Nice to Have):
Experience with database replication and clustering for high availability.
Familiarity with other database technologies such as No SQL, Postgre SQL, Mongo DB , and cloud-based databases.
Writing sample queries and stored procedures is an added advantage.
Knowledge of database automation and management tools.
Proficiency with version control systems like Git or SVN.
Educational Qualifications:
Engineering graduate or B. Tech/MCA with relevant major subjects like Computer Science.
Applicants with other advanced certifications in relevant areas will be preferred.
