About the Role

This is a technical Expert-level position in the Cloud organisation within Getronics. The business unit is responsible to maintain and provide excellent cloud operations services to customers. The cloud delivery organisation works closely with bid management, pre-sales, solution & service architects to support the execution of complex solutions.

Responsibilities

  • This role combines expertise in Kubernetes with the development of cloud-native applications using serverless and container technologies.
  • The individual will be responsible for building, managing, and optimizing Kubernetes clusters at scale.
  • They will work on cloud-agnostic Kubernetes deployments, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), and private cloud deployments on VMware.
  • Additionally, the individual should be comfortable leveraging serverless technologies to develop new intellectual property (IP).
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from a reputed institute.

Required Skills

  • More than 12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and Development roles.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing Kubernetes workloads, from building and hardening to overseeing cloud-agnostic Kubernetes clusters.
  • Minimum of 5+ years working on microservices/containers/serverless/event driven architectures.
  • Experience in creating and managing production scale Kubernetes clusters, Deep understanding of Kubernetes networking including but not limited to Cilium, Azure CNI, Istio, etc.
  • Experience writing applications using Serverless technologies like Lambda, Functions.
  • Solid understanding of internal workings within Kubernetes clusters and experience upgrading/patching production grade Kube clusters.
  • Performing application deployments on Kubernetes cluster, preferably using GitOps.
  • Managing Kubernetes classes of Kubernetes objects, ranging from storage, networking, secret management, etc.
  • Experience in setting up observability for Kubernetes clusters.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications such as CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer), CKS (Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist).
  • Vendor certifications in Virtualization, Systems, Storage, Networking.
  • Any Public cloud administrator/architect certifications.
