You will work closely with company leadership to manage our balance sheet, capitalize on opportunities, mitigate risks, and directly support some of the earliest Web3 companies building the future of the internet via Hashed Emergent. As the finance point of contact, you will help strategize how to invest and manage funds efficiently. Role & Responsibilities: Own recurring FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning Apply understanding of VC/fund management processes (from fund launch to liquidation), even if you have not experienced the full lifecycle firsthand, you should have a knowledge on the process and workflow Develop and implement financial infrastructure and automation to support business growth Stay updated on industry best practices, advising leadership and supporting projects accordingly Collaborate with portfolio companies to adopt best practices in financial planning Lead year-end financial activities, including tax strategy, audits, and statutory reporting Contribute to portfolio company fundraising and M&A decision-making Drive standardization and automation projects to improve process efficiency Prepare and present periodic financial reports and audit findings to leadership Manage cashflow and prepare runway dashboard reports Provide ongoing finance-related recommendations to leadership Lead strategic financial analysis across teams with a deep understanding of Hashed Emergent’s financial statements and priorities Manage and optimize relationships with third-party accounting vendors and service providers in partnership with team leads Monitor macroeconomic trends, the Web3 ecosystem, and internal developments to enable agile financial decision-making Provide financial insights and due diligence to support portfolio company fundraising and M&A transactions Own and run new initiatives in finance streams as per market needs Qualifications: Qualified CA, CFA, or CMA 2+ years’ experience in business finance at a high-growth company, top-tier consulting firm, or investment firm (VC/PE) Strong knowledge in VC / PE / Fund operation - work experience in a fund will be a best fit Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proven financial modeling experience, including building financial statements, creating projections, and sensitivity analysis. Ability to communicate effectively across teams and leadership, translating financial data into strategic insights. Experience in bookkeeping, auditing, tax preparation, and financial reporting. Track record of maintaining accurate balance sheets and creating data-driven budgets for cross-functional teams. Ability to collaborate with company leadership on key investment and financial decisions. Preferred Skills & Experience: Work experience in a high-growth company, startup, investment firm, or VC firm. Web3 expertise, including familiarity with DeFi, tokenomics, and on-chain financial management. Experience managing high-value transactions, including M&A, CAPEX, and token-based transactions. Ability to manage third-party vendors and optimize expense structures. Ability to work independently while also contributing to cross-functional teams.
