JobSummary:We are seeking motivated and skilled CAD Engineers to join our Aftermarket Engineering team for an immediate hire. The ideal candidates will be early-to-mid-career professionals with relevant experience in boilers and/or HRSG systems, capable of working collaboratively with both local and global teams. This role requires flexibility to work later in the day (IST) to ensure effective overlap with our US-based engineering team. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong technical capability, adaptability to design standards, and a self-driven mindset to grow and excel in their careers.Perform complete and thorough checking of Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) non-pressure assemblies, pressure parts, structural component assemblies and detail drawings of equipment.Checking to include validity of design, compatibility with adjacent components, drawing procedures, drawing standards and mathematical accuracy.When needed, assist with preparing or updating major component sub-assembly, sections and detail drawings, calculations, bill of materials and 3D models for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) and associated equipment.Supervise the development of drawings, serve as a consultant to shops, sub-contractors and field personnel for projects.Essential Responsibilities:Review project customer specificationsPrepare major assembly, section and detail drawings and itemized bill of materialsCoordinate with Project Design Lead on the project to which they are assignedCommunicate and assist other departments with calculations and datasheetsDevelop and maintain 3D model of piping and equipmentGenerate weight calculations for parts, sub-assemblies and assembliesParticipate in internal and customer 3D model walk-throughsRevise drawingsProvide thorough checking of drawings and bill of materialsCreate project as-built drawings if requiredAssist in development of General Arrangements and Setting drawingsAssist with review of vendor generated drawingsMaintain knowledge of current designs, standards, and proceduresAssist and instruct drafters in the use of standard and acceptable drafting techniques, detailing, manufacturing, and construction procedures for company productsFollow internal standards, project contracts and specifications, and applicable codes and standardsAssist with preparation and maintenance of internal design standardsProvide support to the Project Engineer, Project Design Lead, and Product Engineer for shop and field issuesServe as consultant for shop and field questionsTravel to jobsite(s) or vendor shops as requiredEducation and ExperienceDiploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).2–5 years of experience in CAD drafting/design, preferably in boilers, HRSG, or related thermal power equipment.Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across geographies.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn design standards and engineering practices.Demonstrated ability to adapt, take initiative, and grow in a fast-paced environment.Location: Chennai IndiaPosition Type: Full-Time/Regular (Willingness to work in adjusted IST hours to overlap with US teams)
