Role: Head - Process Engineering
Location: Hyderabad
No. of Positions: - 01
Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Process Engineering to lead and oversee process development, optimization, and scale-up activities. This role involves driving technical excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards, supporting proposal submission and engagement with clients, and fostering people development within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Development & Optimization:
Guide engineers to scale up from lab to plant with thorough engineering optimization.
Evaluate RFPs, provide technical inputs, identify, and map suitable facilities.
Build client confidence in technical capabilities.
Guide PR&D on route selection, focusing on safety and scalability.
Ensure robust process development and effective tech transfer to production.
Provide ideas and implement process improvements and adoption of innovative technologies.
Project Execution & Compliance:
Oversee pre-tech transfer activities and ensure timely execution of projects.
Troubleshoot technical challenges, monitor schedules, and manage documentation.
Conduct facility evaluations and propose/guide technical upgrades.
Ensure adherence to c GMP, SLAs, and quality standards during audits and project reviews.
Leadership & People Development:
Identify training needs, mentor teams on technical and GMP compliance, and support development.
Drive performance appraisals and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Explore and implement innovative technologies in collaboration with internal teams and academic institutes.
Audit Support & Safety Compliance:
Support customer and safety audits, close CAPA points, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
CAPEX & Budgeting:
Initiate and oversee CAPEX projects, evaluate quotations, and ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment.
Manage departmental budgeting and resource allocation.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate across units to ensure seamless project movement, QC support, and on-time delivery.
Business Acumen:
Proven ability to align technical processes with strategic business goals.
Demonstrated success in building and leading a high-performing process engineering department.
Customer Orientation and audit support
Active participation in customer calls, providing technical updates and timely communication on any issues
Preparation of customer audit PE presentations; Spearheading the customer audits and visits at SBP & CTOs ;
Desired Profile:-
Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph D degree in chemical engineering (B. Tech/M. Tech/Ph D).
15-18 years of relevant experience, including 8–10 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
Expertise in Process Engineering, Production, and Process Safety.
Strong experience in leading teams and solving complex technical challenges.
