Website: are looking for a motivated and experienced Structural Steel Engineer with a strong knowledge of AISC Standards to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design and analysis of steel connections and various steel structures, while also managing projects and collaborating with other engineers.
About Us:
Founded in 2000, Structures Online (SOL) is the first AISC Steel Detailing organization operating out of India. At 650+ people, we are also one of the largest.
SOL provides Steel Detailing and associated services for clients in the US. Our detailing services are utilized by over 60+ fabricators and erectors present in over 20 states. We operate out of four offices: Headquartered in Noida, with satellite offices in Mysore and Kannur, as well as a Project Management office in Phoenix, Arizona.
Being a frontrunner in the Steel Detailing Industry, SOL is also looking to expand its Engineering operations in US and other geographies. To achieve the same, we are planning to establish a new Engineering department in our Noida office and looking for experienced, dynamic individuals to lead our efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Structural Analysis & Design: Perform structural analysis and design of steel connections and members, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Coordination with Design & Detailing Teams: Coordinate closely with the in-house design team and the detailing team to ensure the design intent is effectively translated into detailed drawings and fabrication plans.
- Design of Miscellaneous Items: Perform member and connection design for various miscellaneous items as part of steel structure projects.
- Engineering Reports & Calculations: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, calculation sheets, and other relevant documentation for design approval and quality assurance.
- Supervision of Engineering Team: Manage and supervise the work of other engineers involved in connection and member design, ensuring efficient workflow and the production of high-quality designs.
- Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements, provide design updates, and address any queries related to the steel design and connection design processes.
- Software Utilization: Use connection/member design software and other structural engineering tools to develop and optimize designs.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's/Master's in Structural or Civil Engineering (BE/B Tech in Structural/Civil Engineering).
- Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in structural design, particularly steel structure and connection design.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with AISC and other relevant designing/detailing codes.
- Familiarity with ASD (Allowable Stress Design) and LRFD (Load and Resistance Factor Design) design methodologies.
- Experience with connection and member design software, as well as structural analysis tools.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical details clearly to clients and team members.
- Leadership & Supervision: Proven ability to manage and supervise the work of junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with additional structural design codes and standards.
- Knowledge of 3 D modeling or detailing software (e.g., Tekla)
- Previous experience in client-facing roles, handling client relationships and project expectations.
