Power BI Developer

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI. 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective data visualisations. 
  • Optimise Power BI dashboards with a focus on usability and performance. 
  • Create and maintain well-structured, reusable Power BI templates and visualisations. 
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources. 
  • Ensure database optimisation for query performance in reports and dashboards. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any SQL-related data inconsistencies or performance bottlenecks. 
  • Analyse and interpret complex data sets to drive business decisions. 
  • Conduct data profiling, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency. 
  • Implement measures, KPIs, and calculations within Power BI using DAX. 
  • Leverage knowledge in Microsoft Fabric for data integration and advanced data modelling (optional but advantageous). 
  • Work with other Microsoft tools and services such as Azure Synapse, Data Lakes, and Power Platform where applicable. 
  • Provide support and training to business users on Power BI solutions. 
  • Ensure that all Power BI reports and dashboards comply with company data security standards. 
  • Implement role-based access and data governance policies. 

Key Requirements:  

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and SQL querying. 
  • Proven experience in implementing and optimising Power BI dashboards. 
  • Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and database management. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, including DAX and Power Query. 
  • Strong SQL skills (T-SQL preferred), with a focus on query optimisation and performance tuning. 
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. 
  • Understanding of Microsoft Fabric (added advantage) and related data integration technologies. 
  • Power BI Certification is a plus 
  • SQL or Data Analytics certification is a plus.
