Job Title: Inventory Management Head - Retail Industry
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Head. In this role, the person
will be responsible for strategic planning, direction and overall performance of the Inventory
Management Operations. Assist the Executive team in planning, budgeting, financial and
People Management decisions to enable our organization to reach our goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
 Oversee the entire inventory lifecycle, from procurement to distribution, ensuring
accurate tracking and recording of all inventory movements.
 Delegate responsibilities between functional managers to achieve optimal operating results.
 Play a key role in the implementation of continuous improvement techniques.
 Direct efforts to improve profitability through cost reduction, cost avoidance, and
process improvement/loss prevention.
 Develop and implement inventory control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels
and minimize discrepancies.
 Develop and monitor key performance metrics.
 Create a vision for world class inventory movement, and inventory control for expanding facilities.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
 Design and monitor Inventory forecast and make informed decisions to optimize inventory levels.
 Present regular inventory reports to the Executive team, highlighting key metrics,trends, and areas for improvement.
 Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Team Leadership:
 Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to the team to successfully and
effectively work to accomplish operational goals and to ensure optimum performance.
Process Improvement:
 Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance inventory processes, implementing
new technologies and methodologies as needed.
 Develop cross-functional relationships with other departments, such as sales,
operations, and finance, to align inventory management with overall business goals.
Compliance and Safety:
 Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and company
policies related to inventory management.
 Implement and enforce safety protocols for inventory storage and handling.
Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or
a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
 Proven experience of 15 years in inventory management, preferably in the retail
industry, with a track record of successful inventory optimization.
 Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software and
systems.
 Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
 Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
 Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Working Conditions:
 This role may require occasional travel to various retail locations and distribution centers.
 Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet business demands.
Work Location - Chetpet (Chennai)
