Zeno is seeking an Associate Director - Software Quality Assurance to define and lead the company’s quality assurance function across software platforms, including cloud backend, mobile applications, and embedded systems. Location : Bengaluru – Work from Office (5 days a week) Start Date : Immediate About Zeno An unprecedented energy transition has begun. To meet 2040 net zero goals, over 2 billion electric two-wheelers (motorcycles) must be sold and $11 trillion in fuel consumption replaced. Zeno is building a tech platform to electrify this two-wheeler market, currently responsible for more than 4% of the world’s GHG emissions. Our mission is to accelerate the energy transition and democratize the benefits across Africa, India, and Latin America. With a focus on East Africa as a starting point, Zeno is building a new energy ecosystem with ground-up development of a fundamentally better electric motorcycle and associated battery swap network to drive a better experience for our customers. The Role Zeno is seeking an Associate Director Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to define and lead the company’s quality assurance function across software platforms, including cloud backend, mobile applications, and embedded systems. This is a leadership role that combines technical depth with organizational vision, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety. What You’ll Do Define and drive the overall QA strategy, roadmap, and processes across cloud, mobile, and embedded systems. Build and oversee Test Strategy, Test Plans, and Test Cases for complex software environments. Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of automation-first testing and continuous improvement. Establish best practices for unit, integration, regression, and system testing within CI/CD pipelines. Implement and optimize test automation frameworks to improve coverage and efficiency. Oversee defect lifecycle management, root cause analysis, and reporting of quality metrics. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and DevOps to integrate QA seamlessly into development workflows. Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and methods to continuously enhance QA practices. What You Bring 7-12 years of professional experience in software quality assurance - IoT/Embedded and Firmware 3+ years of experience in software testing, with 4+ years in cloud backend and/or mobile app testing Strong understanding of cloud backend architectures and mobile application technologies. Proven expertise in creating Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Cases. Hands-on experience with test automation and scripting in Python. Other scripting languages (Bash, Perl) are a plus. Proficiency with Git and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira). Experience with Unit Test Frameworks and Automated Test Frameworks. Good to Have: Prior experience in Automotive, Telecom, or Industrial software testing. ISTQB Certification or equivalent QA certification. Exposure to embedded systems, mobile app, or cloud-native service testing. Benefits Hands-on experience with cutting-edge EV battery systems.
