Job Summary
We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Indirect Tax Specialist with expertise in GST, customs, and other indirect tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of post-qualification experience in a Big 4 firm, with a solid track record in tax compliance, advisory, and indirect tax planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review GST returns, monthly tax filings, and tax reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Oversee indirect tax compliance, including GST, customs, and VAT (where applicable).
Manage indirect tax audits, liaising with tax authorities and external consultants as needed.
Provide strategic tax advisory on indirect tax matters to support business decisions and ensure tax efficiency.
Identify and assess tax risks related to transactions and projects, advising on tax-efficient structures.
Stay updated on indirect tax regulations and advise on policy changes impacting the business.
Assist with indirect tax assessments, audits, and inquiries from tax authorities, preparing necessary documentation and responses.
Support internal and external audits, providing necessary data and analysis on indirect tax matters.
Ensure compliance with customs and transaction regulations, including import/export duties.
Manage documentation for customs assessments and liaise with customs authorities to address any issues.
Implement process improvements and best practices for indirect tax compliance and reporting.
Monitor internal controls for tax processes, ensuring compliance with policies and reducing tax risks.
Key Skills and Requirements:
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of GST, VAT, customs, and other indirect tax laws and regulations.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial and tax data, identifying trends and tax-saving opportunities.
Communication: Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying tax-related information and interacting with tax authorities.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in tax calculations and documentation.
Collaboration: Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across functions and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience:
Proven expertise in indirect taxation with 3-4 years of experience in a Big 4 firm post-qualification.
Experience handling indirect tax compliance & audits
