Senior Hardware Development Engineer

The Senior Hardware Development Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and testing of microcontroller-based electronic products in line with Libratherm's technical specifications and product line standards. This role requires a seasoned professional who can lead hardware design from concept to production, ensuring robust, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.Responsibilities:- Product Design & Development:- Lead the complete hardware design life cycle, including schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and prototype creation for new products.- Design and develop microcontroller-based systems (e.g., using PIC, AVR, ARM Cortex-M, or similar) for various industrial and consumer applications.- Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations (e.g., CE, RoHS), and company quality requirements.- Collaborate closely with firmware, software, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.- Testing & Validation:- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for hardware validation.- Perform rigorous testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits and systems using standard lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).- Conduct feasibility studies, stress testing, and performance analysis to ensure product reliability and durability.- Documentation & Maintenance:- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, schematics, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and test reports.- Provide technical support and perform root-cause analysis for hardware-related issues in existing products.- Continuously seek opportunities to optimize existing designs for cost, manufacturability, and performance.- Project Management & Collaboration:- Manage project timelines and deliverables for hardware-related tasks.- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.- Communicate project status, technical challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.Required Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of microcontroller-based electronic products.- Domain Expertise:- Mandatory: At least 5 years of experience in designing products specifically for the Libratherm product line or a very similar industry domain. This is a critical requirement.- Proven experience in a product-centric environment, from concept to mass production.Technical Skills:- Core Hardware Design:- Expertise in schematic design and PCB layout using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad).- Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, including power supply design (linear/switching regulators).- In-depth knowledge of various microcontroller architectures (e.g., PIC, AVR, ARM) and their peripherals (e.g., ADC, DAC, Timers, PWM).- Embedded Systems & Peripherals:- Proficiency with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and RS-485.- Experience with sensor interfacing, signal conditioning, and data acquisition.- Familiarity with firmware development for microcontrollers (C/C++).- Testing & Debugging:- Expertise in using lab equipment for testing and debugging.- Solid understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC principles, and best practices for PCB design.- Documentation & Tools:- Proficiency in creating and managing technical documentation and BOMs.- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.Soft Skills & Competencies:- Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.- Self-Motivation: A proactive and self-motivated individual who can work independently and manage multiple tasks.Department: Research & Development / EngineeringReports To: Head of R&D / Engineering Manager
