We are seeking a talented and experienced Publication Designer and Typesetter to join ourcreative team. This role will be responsible for the design, layout, and typesetting of variousprinted and digital materials, with a focus on books. The ideal candidate has a keen eye foraesthetics, strong technical skills, and a passion for the publishing industry. You willcollaborate closely with authors, editors, and other team members to create visuallyappealing publications that align with our brand and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Design and typeset book interiors, covers, and promotional materials using industry-standard software.Ensure consistency in typography, styles, and visual elements across all publications.Collaborate with authors and editors to create layouts that enhance readability andaesthetics.Prepare files for print and digital distribution, ensuring adherence to specificationsand quality standards.Review and proofread typeset materials to identify and correct any typographical,layout, or design errors.Stay updated on design trends, typography, and digital technologies to continuallyimprove design quality.Assist in the creation and maintenance of templates for various publication formats.Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-pacedenvironment.Provide input on the creative direction of new projects and contribute tobrainstorming sessions.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Typography, or arelated field.Proven experience (5 years +) in typesetting and graphic design, preferably withinthe publishing industry.Proficiency in design software, such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.Experience with print and digital publishing and eBook formatting.Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and print production processes.Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively withdiverse stakeholders.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects anddeadlines.A portfolio showcasing previous work and design and typesetting projects.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with print production techniques and vendor communication.A passion for books and a strong understanding of the publishing industry is highlydesirable.Skills:Strong creative and artistic abilities.Excellent time management and multitasking skills.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
