As an Automation Tester, you will work closely with development and product management team to automate testing processes, improve testing efficiency, and ensure the reliability of software products. Your role will involve creating and maintaining automated test scripts, identifying defects, and providing feedback on software quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Automation Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using tools like Selenium, Test NG, JUnit, or similar.
Test Case Design: Analyse functional requirements and develop test cases and test scripts based on specifications.
Execution of Automated Tests: Run automated tests, report results, and analyze failures to identify areas for improvement.
New Feature Testing : Perform comprehensive testing of new features to validate functionality, usability, and performance, ensuring they meet quality standards before release.
Collaboration: Work with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand application functionality and provide input on testability.
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast and reliable deployments.
Performance Testing: Conduct performance and load testing to evaluate system behaviour under stress.
Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of test cases, test scripts, and testing results.
Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools; collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
Quality Assurance Best Practices: Advocate for and implement best practices in test automation and quality assurance processes.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience as a QA tester or similar role with a focus on automation testing.
Automation Skills: Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, Appium, Tosca, Fireflink). We use Fireflink, so knowledge of that will be an advantage
Scripting Skills (nice to have): Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, or Java Script.
Understanding of Testing Methodologies: Knowledge of different testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail and identify discrepancies.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured).
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git ).
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
Role details:
Role type: Full time. On the payroll of our Implementation partners – Altworks Limited
Location – India (work from home)
Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am –5pm IST
Salary
INR 1.0-1.5 lacs per annum
