We use the latest in LLMs, agentic AI, GCP cloud, vector search, and a modern microservices architecture.We help retailers, brands, and marketplaces automate product onboarding, taxonomy, attributes, images, 360 spins, virtual try-on, and global listings using cutting-edge AI.We’re expanding our engineering leadership team in India.If you’re a hands-on leader who loves code, AI, and building teams – this one's for you.Role Overview We are seeking a hands-on Software Development Manager (SDM) with strong full-stack engineering depth, experience building AI-driven systems, and excellent DevOps/cloud knowledge.This is a highly technical leadership role – you will write code, review code, define architecture, and lead medium sized engineering team.You will work directly with the US-based leadership team to scale our platform across global retail clients.This role requires deep full-stack engineering expertise, strong DevOps/cloud knowledge, and experience delivering AI-driven features in a fast-paced startup environment.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership Manage, mentor, and grow a 12-15+ member engineering team.Own sprint planning, code quality, architecture decisions, and delivery timelines.Establish coding standards, architecture patterns, documentation quality.Review PRs, enforce engineering standards, and guide best practices.Collaborate tightly with US-based leadership, product, AI, and platform teams.Ensure the team delivers scalable, reliable, high-quality features on time.Hands-on Full-Stack Development Build and maintain features in our Fegmo PIM (Symfony + PHP 8.x).Develop microservices in Python (FastAPI) for AI, data pipelines, and integrations.Build internal UI dashboards using React/TypeScript.Optimize APIs, schema, and data models across the platform.AI & Agentic Systems Integrate and orchestrate AI models across Gemini, Claude, Vertex AI, and CrewAI.Build agentic workflows for product understanding, attributes, taxonomy, image generation, video, virtual try-on, and enrichment.Work with embeddings, vector stores, and metadata pipelines.Ensure latency, scalability, and cost efficiency for AI workloads.DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure Manage deployments on Google Cloud (Cloud Run, GCE VMs, GCS).Own and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.Optimize Docker builds, reduce cold start times, and service reliability.Monitor logs, metrics, uptime, performance, and cost optimization.Support VM-based PIM deployments using Docker Compose.Quality, Reliability & Operations Handle environment configuration, secrets, release management, and version control.Define and enforce testing, observability, release pipelines, and documentation.Lead operational readiness and root-cause analysis for issues.Ensure developers follow security best practices and environment hygiene.Own reliability of production and non-prod environments.Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills 10–12+ years of experience in software engineering.Strong full-stack coding ability in:Python (FastAPI, microservices)PHP 8.x (Symfony framework)React/TypeScriptExperience with AI/ML integrations using Gemini, Claude, CrewAI, or similar.Strong competency in GCP (Cloud Run, VMs, GCS, IAM).Excellent Docker, Linux, and CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions).Solid data modeling & SQL skills (MySQL / PostgreSQL).Proven experience building scalable APIs and distributed systems.Experience building scalable, production-grade APIs and microservices.Leadership Skills Experience managing, mentoring, or architecting for teams of 8–12+ developers while remaining hands-on.Ability to enforce engineering discipline, code quality, and documentation.Strong communication skills with US-based leadership and stakeholders.Strong sense of ownership and urgency mindset – drives outcomes, not tasks.Able to operate in a fast-paced startup culture, AI-first environment.Nice-to-Have Prior PIM or DAM customization experience (job queue daemon, bundles, UI extensions).Experience with enterprise retail/ecommerce systems or marketplace APIs.CrewAI multi-agent orchestration experience.Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, or advanced infra-as-code experience.Familiarity with image/video processing & media pipelines.Why Join Fegmo?Shape foundational systems in an early-stage AI-native companyShip at speed with a highly driven, experienced teamRemote-first: Work from anywhere in India, with flexible hoursHigh ownership & impact: Your contributions will directly shape the productEarn equity options based on impact and performanceCulture NoteWe’re building a thoughtful, mission-driven team that values collaboration, creativity, and inclusion.
