About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic sourcing Engineer with expertise in New Product Development (NPD), Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management, and Cost Optimization in the 2W/3W automobile or electric vehicle (EV) domain. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of collaborating with suppliers, managing manufacturing processes, and contributing to productivity improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • New Product Development (NPD): Lead and manage NPD activities, including design feasibility, prototyping, and production support, focusing on components such as Wheels, Brakes, Suspension, Casting, Forging, Sheet-Metal Parts other critical systems in EVs.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for components and materials, leveraging a strong network of sourcing partners.
  • Supplier Technical Assistance: Provided technical guidance to suppliers, ensuring process and quality alignment with company standards.
  • Supplier Quality Assurance: Monitor and improve supplier quality through audits, process validation, and corrective action plans.
  • Cost Management: Conduct Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) exercises to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Process Knowledge: Developed and implemented advanced manufacturing processes and facility planning to support high-quality production.
  • Alternate Sourcing: Identify and onboard alternative suppliers to mitigate risks and enhance supply chain resilience.
  • Productivity Improvements: Drive initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Negotiation Skills: Negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.


Key Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in EV products and familiarity with imports will be a significant advantage.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, technologies, and facility planning for 2W/3W vehicles.
  • Proven ability to work under timeline-driven targets and achieve project milestones.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
