Job Summary
The Senior Associate is responsible for being involved in reviewing and analyzing documents and other evidence to assist on investigation, expert witness testimony, and other litigation support engagements as well as performing transactional testing to support regulatory compliance, monitorships, global forensic, and other litigation matters.
Job Duties
Participates in investigation, compliance, and other litigation support matters reporting to Managers and Senior Managers
Tracks, reviews, and assesses documents and other evidence to identify key facts critical to compliance, investigative, and dispute issues
Reviews and identifies key documents related to allegations and summarizes essence of same in an index/log, Relativity database, or similar document review tool
Analyzes data by creating and updating spreadsheet summaries in Excel and/or other technology tools
Prepares analyses and summaries of findings in memos, tables, graphs, timelines, and/or other data visualizations
Identifies and assesses trends, patterns, and anomalies in data and documents
Identifies and assesses accounting issues and/or indicia of fraud based on review and analysis of financial statements, general ledger detail/reports, journal entries of books/records, and related supporting documentation
Assists in performing fraud and other risk assessment procedures
Tests transactions for substantive business purpose, compliance with relevant policies and procedures, and functioning of related internal controls
Analyzes and critiques damage calculations and other analyses prepared by opposing parties for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
Assists in drafting sections of written reports/deliverables
Performs quality control review procedures of reports/deliverables (e.g., ticking and tying out amounts, verifying formulas, and validating mathematical calculations)
Performs industry, market, and economic research and benchmarking

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Auditing/Accounting, Forensic Accounting, Economics, Finance, or other relevant field, required
MBA or another advanced degree, preferred
Experience:
Three (3) or more years of experience in public accounting, external/internal audit, compliance, internal controls, international engagements, or litigation services consulting experience, required
Digital asset tracing expertise, preferred
License/Certifications:
CPA, Chartered Accountant, and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) schooling complete, eligible or actively pursuing, required
CPA, Chartered Accountant, and/CFE licensure, preferred
Other advanced certification (Certified Financial Analyst, Certified in Financial Forensics, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), preferred
Software:
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access, required
Familiar with Tableau, PowerBI, Smartsheet, and/or other data visualization tools, preferred
Language:
English, required
Other foreign languages, preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Critical thinking is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and basic research skills related to the retrieval and organization of high volumes of information
Solid project management and organizational skills, especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on attention to details
Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently, or within a team environment
Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
