Role Overview Axslogic is seeking an experienced and hands-on Software Engineering Lead to join our team and drive the continuous enhancement of our unique product – Winnow™ - a patented cloud-based platform that provides Early Warning and Predictive Analytic capabilities to financial institutions. The ideal candidate will seamlessly play a dual role of individual contributor (as a coder) as well as team mentor and manager , balancing delivery, people growth, and technical depth. The candidate will lead a team of engineers working across Java (Spring Boot), React, and Python microservices. This role requires strong expertise in Product development practices , deep hands-on experience with Java, React and Python , and a thorough understanding of IT security and high volume computing architectures . Key Responsibilities: Lead engineering delivery for product features and releases. Manage and mentor the software engineering team (career discussions, 1:1s, hiring, onboarding). Contribute directly to codebase (~40%-50% time) on critical features and complex integrations. Drive code quality via reviews, architecture guidance, security guidance and knowledge-sharing. Ensure delivery predictability by coordinating with QA, Platform Engineering, and Data/ETL team. Balance SaaS and Managed SaaS deployment demands, working with DevOps/Platform team. Foster a strong engineering culture of ownership, learning, and collaboration. Required Qualifications: 8–12 years of software development experience with 2+ years in a lead role. Strong hands-on expertise in Java (Spring Boot) and React ; exposure to Python microservices preferred. Experience with cloud deployments (AWS or equivalent), CI/CD, and observability. Proven ability to manage hybrid teams (remote + office). Track record of balancing coding, mentoring, and people leadership. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to ML/LLM-driven microservices. Experience with CI/CD practices Experience in fintech/banking products. Knowledge of SaaS and client-VPC deployment patterns.
