Role details:
Title / Designation : Database Administrator
Reporting Manager: Director of Engineering
Location: New Delhi
Work Mode: Work-from-Office
Role & responsibilities:
Develop and document database architectures, schemas, and physical structures that align
with business requirements and best practices.
Implement and maintain security measures to ensure database integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Evaluate database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance database performance and efficiency.
Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and minimize downtime in case of system failures or data loss.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems, faults, and issues to ensure smooth and uninterrupted database operations.
Plan, install, configure, optimize, and upgrade database management system software to enhance performance and keep the database environment up to date.
Manage database replication and distribution processes to ensure data consistency and availability across multiple environments.
Performs capacity planning of server environments and provides recommendations to management to sustain business growth.
Provide technical support offering guidance and expertise on database-related matters.
Leverage expertise in relational (preferably MS SQL Server) and NoSQL (preferably Cassandra) to manage and optimize databases in both public cloud and on-prem setups.
Utilize T-SQL skills to develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and function to meet performance and functional requirements.
Candidate requirements:
6+ years of experience in NoSQL (preferably Cassandra) databases in multi-cloud environments like Azure, and AWS in enterprise settings.
SQL development (T-SQL) skills are strongly desired
Strong track record of evaluating database performance, isolating performance bottlenecks, and implementing database optimizations in transactional settings.
Database Architecture concepts with hands-on experience regarding high availability, load balancing, and distributed computing required.
Experience managing and monitoring 24x7 Production database environments.
Good communication and documentation skills.
