The Research Analytics group at SIMATS combines quantitative methods, molecular and systems biology, and computational approaches to deliver high-impact research and data-driven solutions in health and nutrition.Role descriptionWe are seeking a full-time/Part-time PhD Research Scholar / Doctoral Research Scholar to join the Research Analytics team. The successful candidate will conduct advanced quantitative and experimental research, apply statistical and mathematical methodologies to complex datasets, develop reproducible data-driven insights, and contribute to high-impact publications. The role requires on/off-site presence in Chennai and involves close collaboration with faculty, clinicians and data scientists across interdisciplinary projects.Key responsibilitiesDesign and execute quantitative and molecular research projects using statistical, mathematical, computational, and laboratory methods.Analyze large, heterogeneous datasets (omics, clinical, behavioral, or other relevant sources).Develop reproducible workflows, scripts, and documentation for data processing and analysis.Prepare research reports, manuscripts, and presentations for academic and stakeholder audiences; lead writing of scientific papers.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to grant proposals and project planning.Mentor junior researchers and participate in seminars and group meetings.QualificationsMaster’s degree (or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
