About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers working on the Blackbaud Infinity platform using the .NET tech stack. This role will focus on guiding the professional development of team members, facilitating Agile/Scrum processes, and driving the team toward success by setting and monitoring metric-driven goals. As a key player in the engineering organization, you will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects, resolve blockers, and maintain the team’s high level of performance.
What you’ll do
Team Leadership & Career Development: Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities. Assist team members in setting and achieving career goals.
Scrum Facilitation: Serve as the Scrum Master for the team, facilitating daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies.
Goal Setting & Monitoring: Collaborate with stakeholders and the team to establish measurable, outcome-focused goals. Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team progress and ensure goals are met.
Project Management: Oversee the team’s progress on project timelines, ensuring transparency in reporting to stakeholders on status, blockers, and deliverables.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering teams to ensure alignment on priorities and efficient delivery of product features.
Blocker Resolution & Issue Escalation: Actively manage and remove any impediments preventing the team from achieving optimal productivity.
Process Improvement: Continuously look for ways to improve the team's development processes, enhancing both speed and quality.
Recruitment & Onboarding: Participate in the hiring process and help onboard new team members to ensure they are integrated smoothly.
What you’ll bring
10+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role.
Strong experience in the .NET stack (C#, ASP.NET, etc.).
Proven experience leading teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
Experience in goal-setting frameworks (e.g., OKRs) and using metrics to drive team performance.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a focus on employee development.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, is a plus.
Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to remove blockers and facilitate smooth project execution.
