We are seeking a motivated and technically adept System Administrator Trainee to join our IT team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a budding IT professional to gain hands-on experience in system administration and networking. The successful candidate will work closely with our seasoned professionals to learn and apply best practices in maintaining our organization's computing environment.
Responsibilities:
·      Develop a strong understanding and knowledge of Linux OS and Software.
·      Acquire knowledge of LAN, Wireless, WAN, Routing, and Networking, and demonstrate proficiency in networking protocols.
·      Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of routers, switches, load balancers, servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
·      Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
·      Assist in administering and maintaining user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
·      Work alongside senior team members to implement security measures ensuring the organization's data and systems are safeguarded.
·      Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot IT-related incidents, and escalate issues as necessary.
·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the implementation and upgrading of software applications.
·      Contribute to the execution of regular system backups and participate in the development of disaster recovery plans.
·      Stay updated with emerging technologies and assist in making recommendations for system improvements.
·      Contribute to the documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
·      Demonstrate basic knowledge in any of the cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
·       Develop excellent knowledge of Security systems (Firewall, Ipsec), and gain proficiency in Hosting control panel (c Panel) and Scripting (Bash/Shell).
Required Skills and Education:
·      Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
·      Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
·      Strong understanding and knowledge of Linux OS and Software.
·      knowledge of Oracle Database, including its architecture, components, and features.
·      Proficiency in Database (My SQL, Postgres, Maria Db)
·      Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
·      Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
·      Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
·      Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
·      Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
·      Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
·       Knowledge in windows system administration will be an added advantage for the position.
·      Exposure in Windows and Linux (Ubuntu, Cent OS) Server Administration
Preferred Qualifications:
·       Certifications: MCSE, RHCE, RHCT, CCNA, CCNP are added advantage.
·       Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) - Oracle Database Administrator
