Designation : Application Developer - Mainframe
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Application Development and Maintenance:
Design, develop, and implement new mainframe applications or modifications to existing ones.
Analyze and resolve complex technical issues and defects.
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Optimize application performance and scalability.
System Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide timely support for production issues and outages.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
Monitor system performance and identify potential bottlenecks.
Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation.
Share knowledge and expertise with team members.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other team members to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Work closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance.
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong proficiency in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and IMS.
Experience with mainframe development tools and utilities.
In-depth understanding of mainframe system architecture and operating systems (z/OS).
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
