Role Title Co-founder & Head of Engineering (Tech Lead) 1. Role Overview A technical co-founder who will architect, develop and drive our core product. You’ll lead the full-stack development lifecycle—designing frontend interfaces in React JS, building scalable APIs with Laravel/Lumen, and managing data persistence in MySQL—while collaborating closely on product strategy and go-to-market. 2. Key Responsibilities Product Architecture & Development Design and implement the overall application architecture. Build interactive, performant UIs in React JS (hooks, state management, routing). Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Laravel and Lumen. Model, optimize and secure relational schemas in MySQL. You will lead, collaborate and  co-define product roadmap, feature prioritization and sprint planning. Mentor and grow a small dev team; conduct code reviews and pair programming. Work alongside design, marketing and operations to ensure seamless delivery. Quality, Security & DevOps Establish CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes. Implement application monitoring, logging and ongoing performance tuning. Enforce security best practices: input validation, authentication/authorization, encryption. Customer Feedback & Iteration Engage with early users to gather feedback and rapidly iterate features. Analyse usage data to inform UX improvements and technical optimizations. 3. Required Skills & Experience Category Must-Have Frontend • 3+ years React JS (hooks, context/redux or other state mgmt.) * SPA architecture, responsive design, web accessibility Backend • 3+ years Laravel (8.x/9.x) & Lumen * REST API design, middleware, authentication Database • MySQL expertise: indexing, query optimization, migrations DevOps & Testing • Git workflows, Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.) * PHP Unit, Jest or Cypress Product-Mindset • Built at least one end-to-end product (web or mobile-web) Collaboration • Agile/Scrum, ticketing tools (Jira, Trello) 4. Desired Attributes Entrepreneurial Spirit: Comfortable with ambiguity, rapid pivots and wearing multiple hats. Strong Communicator: Can translate technical trade-offs to non-tech stakeholders. Ownership & Proactivity: You spot gaps, propose solutions and see projects through completion. Learning Agility: Quick to pick up new libraries, cloud services (AWS/GCP) or DevOps tools as needed. 5. Equity & Compensation Considerations Equity Stake: Co-founder-level equity on offer, vesting over 4 years with 1-year cliff. Cash Compensation: Decent salary aligned to early-stage budget. Perks: Flexible hours, ability to shape culture from day one.
